If you haven’t seen his viral hit Mammy translations clips on TikTok, Instagram & Facebook you must be living under a rock. Jarlath Regan struck comedy gold this year with his dead on money impressions of the Irish Mammy. Now he’s selling out shows across the globe including the world famous Gramercy Theatre in New York. His last tour sold thousands of tickets and a record breaking six nights at the 3Olympia - a record for a first time performer in the historic Dublin venue. Now he’s hitting the road again with his brand new show “In Bits” and tickets are flying out the door faster than his follower numbers are rising.
Irish Mammies In America - Jarlath’s US Tour Dates Sold Out In 48 Hours!
The success of his hilarious comedy clips about sleep, raising teens, Oasis and everything in between can be measured in the millions of views they earn, but even Jarlath was surprised by the reach of the Irish Mammy. “I had no idea that the troupes we associate so heavily with our beloved Irish mothers would resonate abroad with other cultures particularly America.” In March he tentatively organised some shows in Boston, Chicago and New York. “I was just looking at the metrics on the different platforms and thought I’d chance it.” The shows sold out in 48 hours and he’s been adding dates ever since. “I’m now doing 9 shows in total in the US this autumn in some of the biggest theatres I have played and they’ve sold out months ago! It’s bananas!”
Over Night Success Arrives When You Move Home!
Jarlath Regan’s funny bits live and in person are even funnier than his daily posts. He spent 10 years in London honing his craft but things only blew up for him when he moved home. “I don’t know what happened or what changed. I’ve always been working my butt off. I think maybe the algorithm found me and put in front of people and that’s it. In the past you needed to get on the telly. Now you need to get on people’s phones!” His legion of fans across the globe will see him travel to Australia, New Zealand, Canada and even further afield across 2025.
In a world of relentlessly bleak news and constant negativity, Jarlath Regan’s new show invites us to take a break from it all and make space for laughter. Patrick Kielty described it as like watching “a master at work”. Audiences all over the world agreed. In 2023 his feel good “Yer Man” standup comedy show took the country by storm. Selling out a whopping six nights at the 3Olympia, The O2 Shepherds Bush Empire and more than 80 dates across 12 months of relentless touring, his hotly anticipated next show is finally here.
